Tips on How to Make your Outdoor Wedding a Smashing Success!

Welcome to the Le Jardin Blog, a place for beauty, inspiration, tips, and tricks from Utah's premier wedding venue. We are excited to share with you some amazing tips on how to make your outdoor wedding a smashing success!

What’s for Dinner?

Make sure you select dishes that are non-temperature sensitive when planning an outdoor wedding.  Consider a BBQ. At first glance, a BBQ may seem a little too casual for a wedding, however, you can class it up by selecting dishes such a steak and shrimp.

Hydration is Key!

Make sure your guests are comfortable and invigorated at your outdoor wedding by offering plenty of liquids. Offering an array of beverages such as fruity lemonades and flavored waters will not only give your guests a variety of liquid refreshment to choose from, but will add appealing colors to your drink selection as well!

Consider the Cake-

Select a non-melting icing for your delectable cake such as fondant or buttercream icing.  Avoid mouse and ice cream cakes.  No one wants to slurp up a soggy cake.

Weather, Weather, Weather!

Every bride dreams of the perfect wedding day! But one must be realistic and if sunny rays aren’t in the forecast, no need to panic, just be prepared! Tents may be your best bet.

Shady Seating-

Not shady as in skeptical and questionable of course, shady as in some out-of-the-sun relaxation! Remember your guests will range in age and in desire to absorb those UV rays.  Provide seating for at least 1/3 of your guests in the shade.  Having a beach themed wedding? Perfect! Umbrellas would be a creative and fun way to provide shade for your delightful guests.

Keep it Legal-

Nothing brings a celebration to a screaming halt like cops showing up to shut down the party.  Make sure to have the proper permits in place before your big day.  Public and outdoor locations may require permits and have a mandatory fee that needs to be paid prior to your event.  These venues may also have restrictions on what can and can not take place, such as food, alcohol, noise level and limitation on hours.

Most importantly, have the time of your life! Good luck to you on your big day!
